Councilmember Kenyan R. McDuffie​’s short-term rental proposal will do nothing to address DC’s affordable housing crisis. Rather, it will hurt the very renters it seeks to help by eliminating an important financial option for many DC residents.

As Kyle Burgess, the Editor-in-Chief of Consumers’ Research​ said in a recent Washington Examiner​ piece, by scapegoating short-term rentals, “the city fails to address D.C.’s true affordable housing challenges and inhibits consumers’ ability to improve their financial well-being by standing in the way of legal home- and room-sharing.” Read the full piece here and tell The Council of the District of Columbia​ to reject McDuffie’s harmful proposal:
